ANCESTRAL–INTEL | ANALYTICAL SPECIMENS Independent synthetic data design Contact: ecuna.ec@gmail.com Edited previews adapted from a longer design portfolio. All organizations below are fictional. These previews illustrate analytical structure. Model performance requires separate evaluation. Dataset scope, formats and usage rights are agreed separately. Specimen 01 / Fictional scenario / 72-hour horizon A breach. A warning. A bid for less scrutiny. A technology conglomerate attributes a breach to a foreign attacker. A leaked internal warning raises a different question: did known weaknesses make the damage possible? Meanwhile, the company is seeking an exemption from independent audits. OBSERVED / CLAIMED The breach is established within the scenario. State sponsorship is the CEO’s claim; it is not independently established. COMPETING EXPLANATIONS A sophisticated attacker and a preventable security failure can coexist. Attribution does not settle the question of management responsibility. FORECAST The company may use the crisis to advance its pre-existing audit-exemption proposal. The forecast concerns an attempted maneuver, not guaranteed enactment within 72 hours. EVIDENCE TO INSPECT Lobbying instructions, proposed legislative text, investigators’ access and dated risk records. REVISION CONDITION Verified withdrawal of support for the exemption, instructions ending that lobbying, and enforceable independent access would count against the forecast. Check the earlier timeline: later reversal does not erase an attempt already made. Inspectable skill: Causal separation, evidentiary status and revision conditions. Specimen 02 / Fictional scenario / 72-hour horizon Reassurance is not a liquidity assessment. A bank freezes withdrawals during market turbulence. Management calls it an external shock. A reported internal memo suggests that a funding weakness was identified months earlier. OBSERVED / CLAIMED Withdrawals are suspended in the scenario. The explanation that the shortfall was unforeseeable remains a claim to investigate. COMPETING EXPLANATIONS Market volatility is compatible with both an exceptional external shock and a pre-existing weakness exposed by that shock. It does little to distinguish them. CRITICAL DISTINCTION Meeting a capital requirement does not, by itself, establish that a bank can meet withdrawals. Different official statements may answer different questions. EVIDENCE TO INSPECT Authenticate the memo; establish who received it; compare the warning with treasury data, management decisions and actual funding access. REVISION CONDITION Records showing that the warning was addressed, or that it did not correspond to the operational shortfall, would weaken the ignored-warning explanation. Prior awareness alone would not establish fraud. Inspectable skill: Hypothesis comparison, scope discipline and evidence selection. Specimen 03 / Fictional scenario / Six-month horizon When the remedy becomes the controversy. A dominant technology company faces a proposed structural remedy. The analytical task is to forecast whether attention shifts from its conduct toward the alleged harm of intervention. FORECAST The public defense may move from disputed economic evidence, to developer protection, to portraying structural separation as an irresponsible experiment. MATERIAL INDICATORS Commissioned research, association testimony, impact-assessment requests and proposed alternative legislative text. EVIDENCE BOUNDARY An economics paper is not proof of coordination. A developer survey is not proof of astroturfing. Timing, financing and relationships require examination. ALTERNATIVE OUTCOMES Investigators may retain their focus on documented conduct; developers may reject the company’s framing; proposed concessions may strengthen the case for intervention. REVISION CONDITION Representative independent evidence, continued scrutiny of platform conduct, and remedies that materially constrain the company would weaken the predicted reframing. Public persuasion and legal outcomes must be assessed separately. Inspectable skill: Time-bounded forecasting, source relationships and causal restraint.
